Here are a couple of simplistic shots taken on the Tathra Wharf during a full moon.
I love the the cool effects from a 30 sec exposure, the simplicity really works well here.

Wonderland Sunset, Grampians National Park

The other evening my best photography buddy & I walked to the Pinnacle for sunset.
I had purchased a new B+W Big stopper that was in need of some testing, combined with my GND filters it produced this result after about 8 minutes.

I look forward to some more experiments like this.

Here is another shot from my recent holiday to NSW on the rocks at the Tathra Headland. This photo was taken on a full moon with the light from the moon illuminating the rock in the foreground. This was a 30″ exposure.

Edge of the World

Here is a long exposure during a full moon rising over the ocean at Tathra on the south coast of NSW.
Just I nice simple shot that I liked.
From memory it was 30secs at around f/8 on the canon 5D mkII.

Wimmera River Carp

Heres a couple of carp from an outing yesterday at the Wimmera River.
I finally broke through the 70cm mark with this 71cm – 10.04lb
And a heavily pregnant female at 9.35lb, great to have her out of the water.

Montague Island – New South Wales

Here is another quick shot from Mystery Bay as the rain was starting to fall, with Montague Island in the background.
The rocks in the foreground lined up perfectly for Photoshop to stitch this image.
I think this was 8 images at 20secs each. GND filters stacked.

Mystery Bay – New South Wales

The name of the small coastal town, Mystery Bay, has always intrigued as I have driven past it on many occasions.
It lies just south of Narooma and north east of the historic village of Tilba Tilba.

With time to spare on my last trip, I decided to drop in after reading the story of the naming of Mystery Bay.
Mystery Bay was where the abandoned wreck of a small boat was discovered in mysterious circumstances in 1880. The boat had carried Lamont Young, a Government geologist inspecting new goldfields on behalf the New South Wales Mines Department together with his assistant Max Schneider, and boat owner Thomas Towers and two others, from nearby Bermagui. None of the five men were ever seen again, and Mystery Bay was named after their unexplained disappearance.

There is a beautiful beach, which large boulders shelter from big waves. At low tide exploring around the clear rock pools shows a lot of marine life.

This was 8 images at 10sec with GND stacked at f/16.

New toy – Canon EF 24-105mm f/4

Yesterday I received a Canon EF 24-104mm f/4 as a gift from my great friend Jacinta, and it is the greatest present as it combines two loves of mine, Photography & Coffee. Yes you heard right a Canon novelty travel mug in the shape of a camera lens.

Tathra Wharf – Night

Well I have just returned from a 4 week holiday up the south coast of New South Wales to catch some Vitamin D.
The sun was shining, the fish were biting, and it was a nice break from the Grampians.
Three weeks were spent at Tathra & one week at Ulladulla, before reality called and I headed home.

I have a few pictures to post over the coming weeks, and I will start off with the Historic Tathra Wharf, which I have posted several shots of before.

This holiday I thought I would do something different from my conventional stitching, and the other great thing was it didn’t conflict with the fishing schedule.

So here is a full moon shot of the wharf, with a tinge of cloud over head.
From memory I think this was 30″, f8 ISO 800, so a tad grainy.

Rustic Shed – Moonambel
