Victorian Government House, Melbourne
On Thursday the 14th of May, 2009, I had the privilege to accompany my father, along with my mother and grandfather to Government House in Victoria. The purpose for the day was so my father could receive his AFSM, (Australian Fire Service Medal), that was announced on Australia Day. Only about five people were awarded the medal this year and the medals are quite scarce, so he is in good company. Other recipients of other awards included Julian Burnside QC and Justice Bernard Teague .
There was strictly no photographs during the service or applause, however I took a few shots whilst sitting waiting for proceedings to begin.
Myself and Dad.
